The axial dispersion model, Bo number

As the concept of axial dispersion in a TFR means that parts of the reaction mass move with and against 'flow direction' by diffusion processes, it is reasonable to take the following material balance for that process:

The relation between Bo and the number of vessels n is: n = Bo/2 for n >10 (Bo > 20, see image above!). The relation can be derived via the variance and rtd, which appear in both formulas (series of CSTRs as well as axial diffusion)
